Last month I went to Dhanusha district of Nepal to film a short documentary. I was not sure if I made a right decision. The feeling lasted till the moment I met Saraswoti. Then I knew.
Saraswoti belongs from the lowest Dalit (untouchable) caste from of Nepal called Musahar (which literal meaning is 'rat eaters'). Saraswoti is a special woman who left her husband, made her own home and is starting a business.
It took 1 full day and another few hours to film this documentary. (with one extra day of pre-meet).
My father came along to help me with the shoot. As a solo filmmaker, the process of planning, shooting and editing is daunting. However, it makes me proud I did complete this video.
After finish the edit, I think I made an execellent decision to make this short doc of Saraswoti.
